Hey, you inspire.

Welcome back!

Today marks the 3rd feature in my "Hey, you inspire" series. We started with Camille Evans of Make it Work Mom, went on with Amy Sanford of The Family Trifecta, and last week featured Heidi Larsen of Foodie Crush. Heidi has chosen this week's feature as being about the lovely Courtney Carver.

Here's what Courtney has to say....

Give us the basics, where were you born, and where have you lived?

I was born in Savannah Georgia, grew up in New England, and moved to Utah almost 9 years ago. I don’t have a southern accent anymore, but am known to say “Y’all” from time to time.

If you had to summarize your childhood in 3 words, what would they be?

Adventurous, creative, loving.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I really wanted to be a stewardess - yep, that’s what flight attendants were called back then. In my teen years, I wanted to be an artist.

Now that you're "grown up," what's your dream job? (you cannot answer "mother" - even if you want to)

I left my real job in September 2011 to live my dream job of being an artist and working with others to learn how to live their dream jobs and lives.

List 5 things you're passionate about:

Love, Health, Simplicity, Writing and Ocean air.

How are you different now than you were 5 years ago?

I am completely different inside and out. In 2006 I was diagnosed with MS and decided that being overworked and overextended was highly overrated. I simplified every part of my life from diet to debt and today I’m happier and healthier than I’ve ever been.

What piece of advice would you give a 21 year old version of yourself?

Slow down.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change?

I’d change the size of my living space. I currently live in a 2000 sq. foot home and would like to live in a smaller space.

If you could have one super-power, what would you choose?

The ability to wake up at 5 am refreshed and recharged EVERY morning.

Share with us a secret or lesser-known talent or skill you have.

I can juggle 3 lemons or limes, but not a combination of lemons and limes.

Share with us a quote that inspires, motivates, or moves you.

“Ring the bells that still can ring.
Forget your perfect offering.
There is a crack in everything,
That’s how the light gets in.”
-Leonard Cohen

And lastly, Courtney has chosen Tessa Woolf for next week's feature. Same time. Same place.
